This chart (do
not call it a "map", boaters will laugh at you! Maps are for cars,
charts are for boats) shows
from Gulf Harbors North Channel, where we are located, out to North
Anclote Sandbar, our most popular destination and the Northern tip
of Anclote Island which is also a great beach to visit. Everything
inside the red is our allowed boating area.
of our channel is the Cottee River where there are several
waterfront restaurants that have docks.
South, you can see the rest of Anclote Island down to where the
Lighthouse is located as well as the South Sandbar yet another
beautiful island to visit.
Renters are not
allowed to visit the beaches on the West side, as the wave
action can be treacherous. It is better to travel down on the East
side of the island in protected water and stop off on the South
beach or the South sandbar. The East side of the island is mangroves
and very shallow water, so don't travel too close.
On a full
day you can even go as far south as Three Rooker, another beautiful
Here is a video of the North Sandbar, and yes, the
water REALLY is that clear and beautiful!
